What Shelter Photography Means To Me

I have always loved animals of all species. I desperately wanted to be Snow White and have an abundance of animals flocking to me on a daily basis! I personally feel that the more animals I have the happier I will be. At this point in time I have now adopted 3 animals (it would be more if I was not limited to a townhouse and my husband) and my life is so much better with them. Heck, I named this business after one of them!

I adopted all of my pets from different shelters a year apart. Every time I was looking for a new addition to my family I would spend most of my time on Pet Finder. They had an overwhelming amount of animals that needed saving, but many of them had poor quality photos that made it hard to see the animal and its personality.

I hate to admit it, but I naturally focused on the good photos(light, personality, quality) of adoptable pets. It was during these searches that I realized that a shelter photo can unfortunately influence whether or not a pet will be looked at more in depth. I hated the idea that some great adoptable pets could be overlooked due to their photos and I wanted to change it. So, when I started this business I reached out to some local shelters and started photographing. Every animal deserves a lifetime of love and a good home. I believe that my photos can make a difference and I will use my talent to aid in animal adoption.

Let’s Work Together!
